Cherenkov Borzoi is proud to announce that Téine Long and Winding Road JC “Markke” is now an AKC Conformation Champion!
Located in Southwestern Pennsylvania, Cherenkov Borzoi is dedicated to the responsible ownership and conservation of a genetically diverse Borzoi breed.
Our goal is to promote the education and perpetuation of the responsible breeding of sound, sane, healthy dogs.
Borzoi originated from and were originally developed in Russia. A breed of sighthound with relatively sizeable stature, they were bred to hunt small game, but their size and skill lent credence to their previous “wolfhound” moniker.
I was fortunate enough to acquire my first of the breed as a young adult in 2020. It’s been made abundantly clear to me in the short time of my involvement that this is my quintessential breed, and I am here to stay.
As Borzoi see their resurgence in popularity due to viral stars on social media outlets, it is becoming increasingly necessary to promote education about this breed.
I believe education is paramount in fighting against irresponsible breeding and ownership of this unique and wonderful breed. My goal is to promote ethical, high quality, purebred breeding in a world where the “adopt don’t shop” messaging drowns out the importance of shopping responsibly and what that responsibility looks like for new owners and enthusiasts.
